We are partnering with a Portland, OR marketing agency to recruit a Senior UX Content Strategist to join their team supporting one of their largest (and growing) accounts. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting UX and highly technical writing projects. Like any UX role, you will need to be research-savvy, creating understanding for yourself on complex, technology industry subjects. You'll work on a variety of content and copy writing work, including web copy and internal-facing content, including guidelines, instructions and similar for design and engineering teams. You should bring 5+ years of copywriting experience, ideally working in software or highly technical industries. Exposure to UX content and projects is a must! You should also be a great self-managed, project-oriented team member, with the ability to oversee multiple project, clients and deadlines concurrently. As a senior on the team, you'll be provided the opportunity to partner with and mentor junior writing staff as well.

This is a permanent, salaried role based in Portland, OR, great for those already local or already considered relocation to the area on their own. Salary ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, with other perks including a full, competitive benefits package and a great office space in downtown Portland that this team will return to when it's safe. 

In this role, you will:

  • Own digital, web and UX copywriting efforts with a focus on UX content writing and strategy, primarily for app interfaces, web content, style and technical guides, and user communications, among other channels
  • Support the build out and framework process for the UX design process, including working with design, research, product and engineering teams to participate in the product design process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional agency and client teams to design and deliver concise, on-brand messaging, including using research and other data to inform content choices 
  • Communicate highly technical and complex content and subject matter in approachable language, prioritizing user experience
  • Work with leaders to mentor and support other junior team members, as needed
  • Your profile should include:

  • 5+ years of copywriting and content strategy experience; Experience with the UX process, required
  • Expert knowledge of Chicago Style and project management software; Additional highly preferred proficiencies in design software (Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field 
  • Understanding of the UX design process, with the ability to understand each step from concept and research to testing and evaluation
  • Ability to step in to lead projects, mentor junior team members as needed
