Paladin is working with a professional services firm with a growing marketing team with a newly created position for a Marketing and Events Specialist. This role will be responsible for supporting, coordinating and executing key marketing sponsorships, partnerships and events.


You’ll be in charge of sponsorship and partnership management, podcast, webinar, event management and other project management needs.


LOCATION: This role will primarily be working remote, but will need to go on-site occasionally in Oakbrook, IL

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • 4-5 years of experience in event and project management with affiliations to marketing


  • Use of project management software
  • Understanding of marketing, creative and production processes and terminology


  • Manage all stages of projects including project initiation, project request intake, prioritization and processing
  • Manage change requests; facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure everyone has the information they need
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership regarding the status of projects, results and ROI
  • Evaluate conferences and/or sponsorship and partnership opportunities that increase the firm’s brand awareness with key stakeholders and industries
  • Track industry conference and event dates; monitor call for presentation dates
  • Develop meetings/sponsorship opportunity overviews for decision making
  • Execute approved plans and coordinate logistics for firm presence at major industry trade shows and conferences
  • Evaluate conferences and sponsorships to help prioritize events
  • Conduct competitor analysis to understand where and how competitors are engaged with industry organizations
  • Continually evaluate new sponsorship/partnership opportunities that will increase market presence
  • Work with leadership to optimize speaking engagements at national meetings to improve firm visibility
  • Monitor expenses for events and ensure budgets are adhered to
  • Work with Marketing leader to evaluate results to report on sponsorship ROI
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into unique event experiences
  • Coordinate the execution of webinars, podcasts and Zoom events
  • Devise audience strategies and promotional tactics to ensure attendance, KPIs and ROI goals
  • Work with internal marketing team and external agencies to deliver fresh, relevant and unique content-driven experiences from breakthrough virtual presentations to best-in-class live events
  • Create content and presentations to support events such as invites, bios and handouts
  • Plan hosted dinners and receptions along with other events such as private events, annual summit, holiday parties, etc. including budgets, researching venues, negotiating contracts, creating content for invitations, managing RSVPs and follow-ups


  • Proven project management skills with strength in managing multiple projects/deadlines, staying organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, be a team player and positive go-getter
  • Be able to professionally enforce process and be firm and diligent with key stakeholders while building strong and positive cross-functional relationships
