I’m working with an awesome CPG company that is looking for a Director of Marketing to lead their in-house marketing team. In this role you’ll have 4 direct reports and will be needed to not only lead the strategic efforts but, perform as a “player/coach” by jumping in to be hands-on with execution as well. This role will have very high-visibility and reports directly to the President who is looking for someone who is as passionate about their products and growth as he is! They hold an enormous amount of market share in their product space and are looking to expand even further.


I’m looking for someone who can lead the charge in developing and executing marketing initiatives across digital, mobile, social, email and eCommerce channels. You’ll also work with multiple retail partners that includes large and small retail chains, and of course…. Amazon and other online partners.


Culturally, this group is pretty close - they work and play together. They recognize and reward hard work with company-sponsored events. You’ll have gallons of autonomy and not a lot of layers to get your projects off the ground.  


Required Background/Experience:

  • Recent CPG experience is an absolute must.
  • Director-level candidate who can be hands-on and doesn’t come from a place where they delegate to others and can’t get into the weeds with their team.
  • Proven track record of success with increasing revenue through strategic and effective marketing plans.


LOCATION: Chicago-Loop (on-site, with ability to work remote as-needed)

SALARY: A very competitive base salary + target bonus & discretionary bonus incentives

  • Work cross-functionally with sales on deliverables an objectives including: pricing strategy, promotions, and insights.
  • Strategy and execution of brand equity, brand positioning and identity.
  • Management of P&L to ensure sustainable business growth.
  • Plan and execute campaigns across social, mobile, eCommerce and email.
  • Create plans for driving new client accounts, deepening existing relationships, and raising the profile and health of the brand.
  • Track KPIs (upper and lower funnel) while actively helping to measure, report and optimize the work.
  • Oversee creative agency work, ensuring full integration with offline marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze web traffic metrics and suggest solutions to boost web presence.
  • Constantly seek emerging media trends and opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor a small team.



  • 8+ years of digital marketing and/or digital advertising strategy experience
  • MBA, preferred (not required)
  • Previous management required (direct reports, not just dotted line reports)
