Paladin is working with a major CPG company in the Chicago area who is looking for an Insights and Analytics Director to lead a two-person analytics team (a subset of a much larger analytics department) that is dedicated to supporting omni-channel commerce for marketing. We’re looking for someone who challenges industry norms and knowledge as it relates to marketing effectiveness.

In this role, you will ensure that behavioral science and evidence-based demand principles are applied across all marketing touchpoints including package design, communications/advertising and eCommerce. You’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, brand and the greater insights and analytics teams to integrate, and apply evidence-based marketing principles to all marketing strategies and execution.

LOCATION: This role will be based in a Chicago office, walking distance to Ogilvie and Union stations. Being on-site will be necessary 2-3 days/week. Relocation assistance is being offered.

  • Identify analytics and insights-based marketing principles to maximize effectiveness and ROI
  • Lead a team of experienced managers to champion identification and application of marketing principles
  • Uncover new data science capabilities, and ways of improving marketing effectiveness through the use of data storytelling
  • Develop a learning plan, execute and communicate learning plans and best practices in simple, easy to understand frameworks
  • Lead the integration of consumer and marketplace trends; ensuring that relevant trends are acted upon in marketing strategies and branded executions
  • Determine and promote the sourcing and interpretation of marketplace and consumer learning to arrive at evidence-based marketing strategies and refined executions for all brands
  • Drive adoption of comprehensive consumer data and research methodologies, continuous improvement in techniques and cost, and find new tools to increase effectiveness
  • Help promote end-to-end integrated commercialization strategy and process
  • Implement a modernized, exposure and purchase data-based approach to measure the impact of marketing investments on the business, and promote data-backed decision making and optimization

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree with 8+ years of experience producing high quality data and consumer insight analyses
  • CPG experience
  • Background with a variety of marketing disciplines such as package design, paid/owned/earned media, ad content, brand communications and eCommerce
  • The ability to translate data and insights into useful recommendations resulting into tangible results
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to ensure that demand science resources are leveraged and applied
  • Demonstrated skills of the future – adaptable, collaborative, influential, data-driven, critical and expansive in your thinking, functional depth and expertise
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers making sure they’re aligned to the company’s key deliverables and driving impactful outcomes
  • Able to explain difficult concepts and opportunities in simple, yet applicable terms across all levels including executive leaders
  • Management experience with a track record of being able to motivate and develop a team
