Paladin is working with a professional association known for their certification and continuing education programs who is hiring a Learning Manager to join their internal instructional design team. The Learning Manager will be responsible for managing up to three Instructional Designers, and will lead the team in the design, development, testing and deployment of products in the learning platform and instruction led training programs (in-person and virtual). This role will be required to perform some hands-on function in addition to managing a team.


Must-have qualifications to be considered are:


  • Current or previous management experience, specifically managing Instructional Designers
  • Proficiency using learning management systems (LMS) and standard course authoring tools
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Instructional Design or eLearning with a strong understanding of adult learning theories

    LOCATION: Schaumburg/Woodfield area – remote now; hybrid schedules will be offered post-pandemic

    SALARY: Competitive base salary to commensurate with experience + 10% bonus opportunity

    Other Responsibilities to Include:

  • Create/update new and current learning products from ideation to launch and in-market analysis
  • Manage/develop learning products for delivery across multiple platforms, utilizing course authoring software, features on the learning experience platform and emerging educational technologies
  • Lead the design team to ensure all materials utilize adult learning theories for both instructor-led and self-paced deliverables
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate direct reports ensuring staff maintenance and opportunities to develop knowledge and skills necessary to drive organizational success as well as their own
  • Analyze and select the most appropriate strategies, methodologies, and technologies to maximize the learning experience.
  • Partner with Product Management to analyze learner feedback, collect competitive analysis, and understand learner needs in support of product ideation and improvement efforts
  • Research and support new opportunities for online and hybrid learning
  • Establish and conduct regularly scheduled lifecycle reviews of existing learning products, and ensure appropriate product maintenance, improvements and enhancements are implemented
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships for learning and development; identify and vet new development vendors and SMEs
  • Led cross functional team to optimize learner experience on learning platforms and in-person learning
  • Ensure key dates and deliverables are being met
  • Develop documentation and assistance tools, review materials for accuracy, grammar and branding

    Other Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Training & Development or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Instructional Design, eLearning or course authoring
  • 1-2 years of management experience leading eLearning staff
  • Proficient in LMS software (learning experience platforms) along with Captivate and Articulate Storyline (or equivalent)
  • Ability to present new ideas, approaches, and information clearly and solicit buy-in
  • Proficiency in online/digital methodologies and development processes
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS is a plus, but not required
