We are working with a Portland, OR B2B software company to recruit a Front-End WordPress Developer to join their team on a part-time, contract basis FULLY remotely. In this role, you will jump into a new WordPress site launch just after go-live. You will be responsible for reviewing the work that has been done so far, providing recommendations on changes and next steps, and implementing those changes with a team of web content experts. To be a fit, you must be a WordPress expert with Gutenberg block development and management expertise. Experience with Pantheon is highly preferred. You should also be an excellent collaborator, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and leadership to share site feedback and brainstorm on fixes. 

As mentioned, this is a fully remote role working on a PST schedule, set to be 20-30 hours a week on average for 3+ months. This is a great opportunity to get in with a growing org, work for a very flexible manager, and do great work on your schedule! Pay ranges from $35 to $40 an hour, with some flexibility for the right fit. 

You will:

  • Work cross-functionally with Web Content, Marketing and Technical teams, including leaders, to review WordPress site build out and make strategic recommendations to improve functionality and design
  • Build WordPress site's front-end, focused around Gutenberg block development, management, and optimization
  • Support back-end development as needed, specifically focused on database and server integration
  • Partner with leaders to research relevant WordPress themes and plugins
  • Support go-live for new pages, monitoring performance and making updates as needed
  • Your experience should include:

  • 2+ years of experience as a front-end WordPress developer, ideally working with B2B sites
  • Excellent knowledge of Gutenberg block development; Experience with Pantheon, highly preferred
  • Proficiency with CSS, JavaScript and HTML
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (may be substituted for additional experience)
