Communications Specialist

Paladin is currently seeking a Communications Specialist with 2 years or more experience for a healthcare company in Los Angeles. The role offers an opportunity to work within the marketing department and expand into the public relations department.

This role will be providing support to the Director of Communications. Must be able to work independently with a sense of urgency as minimal supervision and direction will be provided. Responsibilities:

  • Execute public relations strategies from start to finish, including developing media relations strategies, pitching stories, planning events, and supporting internal teams.
  • Working as the organizations spokesperson to plan and coordinate materials for media events
  • Create power point presentations, support events and meetings
  • Write press releases, media advisories, web content, opinion pieces, letters, emails, and other materials

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of public relations
  • Some healthcare industry experience
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Knowledge of basic photo editing video recording and editing skills
  • Expertise in all Microsoft Suite and basic proficiency in Photoshop
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and effective reports, correspondence, and other written materials.

  • Ability to effectively multitask
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - mainly Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of previous experience in public relations, customer service, internal and external communications, and email marketing.

Work Hours:

8:00 am – 5:00 pm, 40 hours per week
