Paladin is working with an international law firm that’s been recognized by Fortune 100 as one of the best companies to work for in 2020. We’re looking for a Proposal Manager with experience working in high-volume environments and strong stakeholder management.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing the development of proposals and other marketing and business development materials. You’ll serve in a hands-on capacity, playing a key role in proposal development, supporting the marketing team, leading them through a winning proposal.

This position can be located in Chicago but, would need to work Pacific Coast times as most of your team will be situated on the West coast.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead most proposals and RFx responses for designated practice areas.
  • Lead strategic and high-profile proposals firm-wide as assigned.
  • Lead or serve as secondary proposal manager on high-profile and preferred provider RFx responses as assigned.
  • Ensure all data gathering and processing for the firm’s proposals and pitches are accurate, consistent and submitted timely.
  • Actively collaborate with partners, marketing managers, and other key stakeholders to develop clear, compelling, winning proposals.
  • Follow the firm’s proposal processes and work to refine and improve, developing a competitive strategy, preparing the interview team, and debriefing the firm’s team.
  • Assist in drafting and editing proposal templates, as well as maintain the templates and disclosure requirements on firm wide and regional pitch book elements such as client names, profiles, experience lists, attorney biographies.
  • General oversight for a centralized proposal management database system and support compilation, analysis, and reporting of various metrics.
  • Develop, organize, and manage content for proposal documents within the firm’s proposal generator tool.
  • Work with design to develop creative and information graphics.
  • Participate in regular meetings. Develop and present activity reports that summarize activity, success rate, and progress on initiatives.
  • Lead or assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelors’ degree (MBA or JD is a plus, but not required)
  • At least 7 years of marketing communications experience in a professional services environment. Priority will be given to those with legal experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proposal experience.
  • Use of proposal software such as Content Pilot, Foundation or similar, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Stakeholder management and/or C-suite management is a must as you’ll be frequently interfacing with firm partners
  • Strong writing skills, excellent project management, commitment to service and doing whatever it takes to getting the job done
  • Able to prioritize, multitask and function at high levels within a fast-paced, challenging and deadline driven environments where you may need to anticipate potential issues, devise contingency plans and quickly grasp specialist knowledge.
