Paladin is working with a global manufacturing company with a newly created position for an Internal Communications Director who will be responsible for developing and executing global internal communications plans and activities to drive engagement and align with business priorities.


This position will work very closely with the CEO and other C-Suite and Senior Leaders, collaborating and advising on internal communications strategies and execution. This role will not have any direct reports, and will be hands-on with copywriting and editing internal communications messaging that is distributed across various channels including video, town halls, intranet, employee app, email, etc.

This role will not have any direct reports and will serving in a hands-on capacity. 


LOCATION: Buffalo Grove, IL (this role will work on-site w/flexibility to work from home on an as-needed basis)

SALARY: Will commensurate with experience




  • Delivery of internal communication plans that drive employee engagement and connection to the company’s strategy, brand and culture.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of global employee communication projects and activities in support of key priorities including executive communications, change management and employee programs and events.
  • Align communications strategy with business objectives to build awareness to engage audiences.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to key internal stakeholders, ensuring all related communications support business needs and priorities.
  • Support the development and execution of roadmaps for key communications channels, including internal and web-based platforms.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communication tools and identify areas for improvement.


  • BA in Communications, Journalism or similar discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a dedicated internal communications professional in a corporate environment.
  • Global employee communications or having worked for an international company is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing communications campaigns including change management, employee engagement, leadership, digital communications and employer brand activities.
  • Experience managing agencies and outside vendors.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or packaging is a plus, but not required.
  • Solid understanding of communication tools and channels including social media.
  • Digitally IT savvy.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into a cohesive communications strategy.

    Technical Requirements:

  • Use of any kind of content management system or SharePoint based intranet.
