My client, a real estate company is looking for an experienced Sr. Communications Specialist to join their marketing team. They’re a small company where you’d get a lot of face-to-face contact with everyone from the top down. The Sr. Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating and editing corporate communications and publications as well as interacting with external stakeholders to ensure that all departments and corporate functions are broadcasting a consistent and accurate company message that will enhance the visibility and perception of the company’s products and services within various audiences.

 

LOCATION: Oakbrook Terrace, IL

JOB TYPE: Permanent/Full-Time

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write copy and create content that maintains a consistent message of the company brand in both style and substance, across all business units and departments.
  • Gather, write, edit, and maintain content for corporate communication communications via company website, digital signage, brochures, advertisements, presentations, speeches, award submissions, proposals, video scripts, white papers and press releases.
  • Assist with written communications and presentations by writing content or editing materials.
  • Prepare and write content for executive and senior level staff for speaking opportunities, press conferences, panel discussions and other public speaking engagements.
  • Ensure written communications and presentations provide the intended message and use accurate and approved facts, data points or anecdotes.
  • Actively develop and maintain content for corporate websites ensuring that all material is current and accurate, and that new projects and initiatives are properly represented, and site security.
  • Work with Graphic Designer to maintain brand and message by creating and editing copy, double-checking the final product for accuracy.
  • Interface with key external stakeholders on behalf of the company including the media, investors, government, public and others.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of all media communications and media relations including drafting press releases, monitoring of press comments/articles and coordinating meetings/contact between employees and relevant journalists.
  • Develop and maintain press kids and other promotional materials for distribution.
  • Assist various departments with any writing, communications and PR needs.
  • Pursue self-development training as directed by Marketing Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, PR or similar is required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ corporate communications experience creating copy, corporate communications and PR.
  • Strong ability to write and edit copy according to the voice of the brand.
  • Strong technical skills using MS Office

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess a customer service mentality, business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Be highly organized, and able to execute under tight deadlines.
