Paladin is seeking an Account Director for a permanent position in Chicago, IL. Our client a B2B midsize agency is looking to add a strong Account Director to their ranks. The Account Director requires strong account management skills, extensive business development experience (B2B), strategic understanding of digital marketing practices, and previous people leadership. B2B experience is an absolute must. The ideal candidate will be coming from a small to midsize agency (previously could have worked for large and has been in a smaller agency for 3+ years) where they focused on digital account strategies. Automotive experience would be a plus. This role is only open to candidates local to the Chicagoland market.


  • Reviews client’s strategies and recommends improvements or proactive alternative solutions.
  • Campaign conceptual directions to ensure strategic marketing objectives remain in focus.
  • Develops strong relationships with senior client contacts
  • Leads a team of account coordinators and managers, meeting with them on a regular basis to help prioritize and structure daily activities.
  • Evaluate account manager performance on an ongoing basis
  • Reviews estimates and quotes and to ensure budget requirements are met and profitability maintained.
  • Monitors accounts receivable and credit-worthiness of accounts and ensures that financial management of accounts meets overall agency standards
  • Reviews major media and public relations plans, and creative strategies before submission to clients
  • Develops, tracks and reports on client success and campaign performance metrics and KPIs
  • Seeks out new business opportunities and plays a leading role in their development


  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Work, PowerPoint, and/or Keynote.
  • Digitally savvy to guide and manage integrated digital campaigns.
  • Experience with Google Analytics a plus.
  • Oversaw competitive research and identification of potential opportunities.
  • Superior verbal, written, and presentation communications are a must.


  • BA/BS in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field preferred.


  • 7+ years of ad agency experience -required
  • Previously managed P&L
  • CRM strategy and program development

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Automotive advertising.
  • Previously led teams of Account Managers or Coordinators.
  • Strong personality and able to hold your own with type A personalities.

    Pay Range: $110-$140K

    Work Hours: 8am – 5pm – agencies are standard hours and may be required to work long than 40 hours per week.
