Ideal Position:
I enjoy working on a freelance basis -- writing, researching, or proofreading. The ideal would be to have monthly or ongoing projects for a variety of publications and companies.

I work out of my home office, and am happy to attend on-site meetings both in and out of NYC.

Past Experience:
Before becoming an independent contractor, I held executive-level positions at major fashion and beauty publications and companies. Prior to that I lived in Paris, where I freelanced for a French fashion trend-analysis company, and researched a book about Parisian notables of the 1950s and '60s. I've also traveled globally.

Currently:
I recently wrote a multi-page advertorial about the latest kitchen/bath trends. I interviewed the participating advertisers' presidents and three top interior designers; then blended the information together for an editorial feel. I also obtained photos and releases, and proofread it. The outcome: increased business for the publication.

I am able to pack lots of information into a small amount of space, and use sub-heads and sidebars to best advantage. Toss me a theme -- eco-consciousness for example -- and I'll find the best way to spin it around a product. Finally, I am excellent at tracking down that esoteric quote or bit of info to add oomph to, or round out, an article/advertorial.
