Ideal Position:
Ideal would be a position employing my PR and strategic planning skills -- working to develop real news stories with media, creating client and staff communications, setting schedules, expanding press contacts and developing systems that complement and enhance other marketing measures, including adverts, website/social media content, et al.
Ideal Environment:
I’ve been wildly successful driving PR as a 1-man dept. and have led multi-person teams developing strategic approaches for diverse audiences. Having worked in a 24-hour newsroom, meeting strict deadlines is the norm. I function as well in a suit/tie corporate atmosphere as in a casual internet start-up and strive to exceed expectations.
Past Experience:
After my degree from BU in Journalism, I worked in the Atlanta newsroom of a cable TV news giant and have held positions as: PR Dir. for a non-profit; as an Advertising Acct Exec; as a Marketing Dir. and PR Director for an international firm; among others. Most recently, I’ve been consulting on PR and Marketing projects for multiple clients.
Currently:
Two recent projects have included launching a new division for a client, developing and executing an on-budget PR plan with international coverage, key placements/interviews. As well, an over-all redesign of PR for a client included editing releases and profiles, developing new instruments and new media lists for existing staff to manage ongoing.
Additional:
My background includes: designing training for a financial firm; developing project management plans for a tech firm; creating and promoting events for the public and for press; pitching stories and developing media relationships; writing/editing content for publication on the web, in magazines, newsletters, newspapers and in advertisements.
