Public Affairs Manager with Agency and Not-for-profit Experience

Ideal Position:
The ideal opportunity would be working for a solid Public Relations agency with growth opportunity in the area of public affairs. I am seeking a position where I can direct internal and external communications, provide strategic counsel, and be able to use my strong writing abilities for my clients.
My ideal environment would be working with talented, creative people. I want to add value to any organization I work for by using the strong communications skills that I have developed over the last 13 years.
Past Experience:
I have over 13 years of public relations experience working in the public sector. I am the former Director of the Public Information Office for a government entity. In 2005 I started my own business doing public relations for state lawmakers, and I also do contract work for a leading public relations agency.
Currently:
My last major project was putting together an umbrella public affairs strategy to protect the Certificate of Need law for a major hospital chain. This involved a great deal of time and research into the history of the issue, the current laws, and why they must remain in place.
