Ideal Position:
My ideal position would allow me to use my proofreading skills and experience in a collaborative setting, although I'm also a good independent worker. I enjoy working in both the medical and education fields, but also enjoy working in other fields as well -- variety is the spice of life, after all.

My ideal work setting would be well lit and airy, with plenty of room to work. Windows would be nice, but aren't essential. I've worked in a variety of settings, however, and find that I'm very adaptable to what's available.

Past Experience:
With 15 years of experience in the proofreading field, I've worked for medical associations, advertising agencies, pharmaceutical companies, K-12 education publishers, corporate survey companies, and nonfiction and fiction companies. I'm familiar with Chicago Manual of Style and the AMA handbook, and integrating house styles as needed.

Currently:
In the last 3 to 4 years, I've worked in the education publishing field at two different production houses, where I proofread for editorial style, grammar, and page style. I've also worked at home for various clients, often medical textbooks for medical associations.
