J. M. | Paladin Los Angeles Candidate
PR/Journalism/Marketing Professional with Corporate, Not-for-profit and Agency Experience
Available For:
Long-term Contracting, Short-term Freelance, or Direct Hire.
Ideal Position:
I am seeking a public relations, marketing or writing position with an established company after years of global and field experience, agency, corporate and freelance work. Now a single mother to two young sons, I want to return to a permanent position in a company without extensive location work and continue my career as a public relations professional
My ideal environment is fast-paced and challenging with colleagues who enjoy their work and love communications. I want to be part of a team with love of writing, researching, organizing, creating strategies and supervising execution of press activities across multi-media (video, photography, online). I am seeking stability for my young family but some travel is OK.
Past Experience:
I spent five years at a prominent cable network as Director of Media Relations for Original Films, creating and leading award-winning campaigns. I also have more than two decades of experience as a freelance unit publicist with both small and award-winning popular films. I have also worked in Corporate Communications at a film studio and done sports writing and copy editing at a major daily newspaper.
With a career ranging from covering the '84 Olympics as a sportswriter to attending the '94 Emmys and Golden Globes with award-winning films and TV shows; from years of global field work and extensive travel to years with studios and agencies, I have a unique understanding of the macro and micro in international and domestic media.
Currently:
Most recently, as unit publicist for a children’s movie, my sons and I traveled to Nashville, TN for a great family film and working experience. From working with the studio’s extensive corp. to handling scores of fans and paparazzi, the work was challenging, fun and the outcome is certain to be a well-executed, huge crowd-pleaser (April 2009 release).
