Ideal Position:
When I envision myself in a role delivering strategic recommendations, I see opportunities to use my writing skills to complement a complex marketing objective, and I enjoy serving as a strategic advisor, drawing from my marketing communications background. I am seeking a position in marketing communications/corporate communications at a mid- to large company in Chicago. I am especially interested in non-traditional companies/positions and am eager to travel.
Past Experience:
As a former journalist with several daily newspaper experiences, I bring not only thorough writing skills but also an understanding of the media. I used these skills during my job at a public relations agency. I am also able to lead a comprehensive, rigorous two-way communications program to target messages to specific audiences as necessary.
Currently:
I served as the communication lead/expert for a top 10 commercial insurance company, where I had complete authority and responsibility for a rigorous communication strategy program for 1,700 employees. I also coordinated department-wide communications for consistency of strategic messaging and increased two-way communications by 75%.
