Ideal Position:
My ideal job would be taking a project from concept through production. I would like to generate the creative idea behind the concept. The ideal job would allow me to work on different forms of print such as logos, brochures, signs, etc., as well as learning more about my industry and craft. My ideal environment would be somewhere that breeds creative, where new ideas are accepted with the constant change of the industry and clients’ industry. Also, something that I think is important is teamwork, where people support each other through projects.
Past Experience:
For the past five years I have mostly done production with a little creative. I have worked on several print projects from mailers, packaging, logos and business cards to creating concepts and photo manipulation. I worked as a graphic designer for a small marketing firm, a multi-national company in office products and a mid size furniture retailer.
Currently:
My current role is a layout artist for a furniture retailer. I create layouts for all sorts of print media (circulars, direct mail, internal documents, etc.). I support all corporate departments, web site stores and the senior designer. My role's impact on the company helps with the day to day design functions for the rest of company.
