Available For:
Contracting, Freelance, Direct Hire, Temp-to-Perm, Consulting
Ideal Position:
I'm looking to utilize my skills as a storyteller to promote the people, products and services of sports-, entertainment-, civic- or school-related organizations or companies. Whether through an online or printed article, press release, media pitch or other method, I'd like for my experience to help someone show the world why they are important.
Ideal Environment:
I like places that give you the big picture needs and trust me and others involved to use our talents to make them happen. I thrive best in an environment where I can collaborate with others. I enjoy working with people from a wide variety of departments to help me best understand a company's or organization's needs.
Past Experience:
I'm an award-winning writer, editor and PR specialist who successfully helped execute the communications plans to create the United States Bowling Congress in 2005 and the organization's move from Wisconsin to Texas in 2008. I have managed as many as 43 publications with combined budgets of $3 million and with circulations as high as 2 million.
Currently:
I'm the DFW and national bowling writer for a web site called Examiner.com. I'm helping tell bowling's story through this new medium and generating more visits than the average recreation pages on the site. I'm also writing a monthly column for a chain of newspapers and working on some freelance writing assignments.
Additional
As a prolific reader of current and past events, I can very easily adapt to the culture and nuances of any industry. I specialize at taking complicated information and making it easy for customers to understand. I know in what form and in what mediums information needs to be disseminated.
