Ideal Position:
I would love a position where I could write and also lead and mentor other writers and designers, a position where the creative challenges are many and the people are positive about their ability to make an important contribution to the business.
Ideal Environment:
My ideal environment? One where it's fun to come to work (although I believe we play an important role in choosing whether we want to have fun). I'd like a relaxed setting but one where everyone has an urgency to come up with great concepts that can make a difference--one where teamwork creates a mutually shared sense of responsibility.
Past Experience:
I've worked as a copywriter and associate creative director in an advertising agency setting; as a creative director when I ran my own shop; and as a senior writer for several large companies. In all those positions I was a writer, thought leader, PR operative or strategist working with others to achieve measurable results.
Current:
In my most recent position, I wrote thought leadership about complex financial subjects, achieving media placements on a strategically important website relatively quickly. I made sure the concepts were very strong and well thought out (and fit the publications' needs, of course) so that getting editors to say "yes" was relatively easy.
Additional:
More than anything else, I am an effective conceptual communicator. I believe that an idea, properly phrased and visualized, can spark an outpouring of support and change a life or a business.
