T. B. | Paladin Dallas Candidate
Creative manager, Art Director, Designer
Available For:
All types of positions
Ideal Position:
I enjoy being a team leader: being responsible for the big picture, long-range planning, collaborating with clients, mentoring teammates, putting out fires.
I can also be an individual contributor: taking ownership of my assignments, pitching in as needed, meeting goals.
I am equipped for off-site work, using Mac OS, Adobe CS5 and CS3.
Ideal Environment:
To do work that is important. An organization that respects its employees and its customers, competitive salary and benefits, opportunity for growth and a livable commute. I appreciate good equipment and resources. I have found all these things in large companies and small companies. I am interested in working for a nonprofit as well.
Past Experience:
I spent eight years as design manager for magazine publishers, leading teams of up to 10 people. In addition to hiring, training and mentoring, I was responsible for systems, schedules and budgets. Running my own design studio, I am responsible for all creative, operational and financial aspects. I wear many hats and thrive on learning new things!
Currently:
I provide creative services to a Dallas nonprofit professional association. The group is hosting a major speaker event next year to raise funds for their scholarship program. They have awarded $1.6 million to law students to date. I help with strategy, design, even editing. They have won two corporate sponsors using my marketing materials.
Additional:
I believe in simple, practical graphic design. To that end, I follow these tenets: collaboration, clarity, credibility, communication. The end goal is always to convey a message.
My method:
- Listen to the client's needs
- Offer appropriate options
- Create logical, meaningful solutions
- Honor the budget and timetable
