J. C. Z. | Paladin Dallas Candidate
Copy, Editing, Writing & Communications
Available for:
Long-Term Contracting, Direct-Hire, Temp-to-Perm
Ideal Position:
I am seeking a position that will allow me to use my copy editing, writing and communication skills, for either online or print publications, ideally in the area of athletics or education; a position that will provide an opportunity to be part of a team where my skills will benefit production while allowing me to pursue new career challenges.
Ideal Environment:
My ideal environment would be one in which individual creativity is embraced, where coworkers are friends and where there is a true feeling of collaboration and teamwork. I am accustomed to multitasking under tight deadlines.
Past Experience:
I am a self-motivated professional who brings nearly 10 years of writing and copy editing experience, most recently with The Dallas Morning News. I communicated with more than 1,500 coaches and athletic directors for story ideas and to ensure accurate information on their teams and players. And I prepared and edited various packages for all sports.
Current:
Most recently I played an integral role in developing, testing and launching a live-scoring/play-by-play initiative for high school football. My institutional knowledge and technical expertise were vital in making this 12-month project a success. And my involvement ensured the software would be flexible enough to use in a variety of ways.
Additional:
I was a key team member on various long-term technical projects, helping to define needs, set parameters, test functionality and act as a liaison across multiple departments and third-party venders. And I was named the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Region II Soccer Writer of the Year in 2010.
