Ideal Position:
My ideal opportunity would be a part- to full-time proofreading or copy editing position, short term or long term, with an organization in San Francisco, or the East Bay area around Oakland. I am also intensely interested in positions that will broaden my skill set in areas such as copy writing and software use.

My ideal environment is a hard-working, collegial work place that also provides opportunities to learn new skills.

Past Experience:
I opened my freelance editing business in 2005 after many years of editing and writing part-time while working for numerous law firms. In three years, I have copy edited and proofread hundreds of documents in formats ranging from Web sites to books.

Currently:
My most significant project so far has been the copy editing of all eight books in a series of environmental texts for young people. One of them was named "One of the Ten Best Environmental Books for Young People" by the ALA's Booklists in 2007.
