Ideal Position:
My ideal position is one that allows me to utilize both my vast writing experience and my skill at project management. I have experience as a writer using a variety of styles including marketing and proposal writing, daily newspaper reporting and freelance newspaper and magazine features.

My ideal environment is a mid- to large-size company within the San Francisco Bay Area that allows me to use my strengths and skills described above. Other desirable qualities of a company include: stable population/long-time employees, intelligent population, work-life balance, opportunities for promotion from within, openness to telecommuting, and positive employee morale.

Past Experience:
My background is in writing, but I have developed into a strong project manager able to shepherd projects to completion. I have experience as a news reporter, proposal writer and corporate communications writer/editor. I believe that the sum of those writing experiences has made me a strong, well-rounded wordsmith.

Currently:
In my most recent role I served as a corporate communications manager overseeing projects for the benefits department of a large grocery corporation. I produced projects that informed and reached more than 34,000 employees nationally. I was responsible for leading teams, supervising freelancers and contractors, and updating the company intranet.

I believe that my varied work experience coupled with my education has provided me with valuable skills including the ability to effectively manage deadlines and multi-task and to learn on-the-fly. I also have the ability to translate complicated information into easily readable and understandable material.
