Ideal Position:
My ideal position would be to lead or manage a graphic design group, in a strongly hands-on mode. I would like to work with companies or on projects demanding clean and contemporary design work that is as analytical as it is creative will be more likely to appreciate my work. Integration, continuity and image are vital.
Ideal Environment:
I have worked in all types, but I like an environment where I interface with all types (account and product managers, sales, customer service, manufacturing and the like). I find it stimulating to be in a position where you can source and exchange details, information and the like about your job. My big agency experience was like this also.
Past Experience:
Early in my career I assumed junior, to senior, to design director positions with some of Chicago leading design consulting firms. Later, I transitioned to the big agency experience where I really learned a lot about marketing. After a stint in Seoul as Creative Director and Marketing Director for two of the hottest shops I returned to the USA.
Currently:
For the past three years, I have worked closely with the President of a two-division company. When they hired me they needed someone who could build a Marketing Department from the ground up. They needed everything: corporate identities(s), website(s), print ads, directory advertisements, direct mail campaigns and internal communications.
Additional:
If you look at my development it pretty much explains what makes me tick. Prior to becoming a Communications Design major I was an Architectural major and Psychology minor. Once my sails caught wind, I remember as a young designer finding it hard to believe that people actually get paid for doing this. Design combines all my roots and instincts.
