Ideal Position:
My ideal position would be to serve as the senior proofreader/copy editor for a team of busy copywriters and account managers. I'm passionate about seeing that everything that prints or hits the Web is clear, concise, valuable, authentic, and error-free.
Ideal Environment:
A supportive, collaborative work environment is a must for me. Since I feel strongly about my abilities as an editor, and would want my co-workers to know that they could count on me to help them shine. I thrive in an easy-going, casual setting, but when I'm at work, I'm there to work.
Past Experience:
Over the past 25 years, I have specialized in corporate and agency work, in the areas of healthcare, education, B2C and retail. Specific projects have ranged from annual reports, books, Web sites, magazines, directories, catalogs, packaging, PowerPoint presentations, etc. for small businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies.
Currently:
As an independent contractor, I performed every aspect of production for an 84-page, spiral-bound cookbook, written by a doctor. From formatting the Word doc into InDesign pages, to designing the covers using Photoshop, to cross-referencing the index pages and proofreading the book, the experience has been tremendous. Plus, my client is happy!
