Media Relations/Communications Strategist

Ideal Position:
I'm a good communicator, and an excellent writer. I take complex technical or medical language and translate it for the consumer. My ideal job would give me the opportunity to use this talent, as well as my media training skills. If I could work from home, that would be fantastic, but I'm also happy to go to an office.
Ideal Environment:
One of my most recent jobs was the ideal environment, surrounded by smart people who cared about their jobs, as well as caring about contributing to the health and well-being of children. I loved being in a culture where education was valued, and people approached their work with conviction and integrity.
Past Experience:
My first jobs were in journalism - as a TV reporter, and later in public relations as an account executive at PR firms. Following 3 years in Barcelona, Spain, where I taught English and worked at the Barcelona Olympics, I settled into not-for-profit work, primarily focusing on health care. My experience, always, has been as a communicator.
Currently:
Designed and delivered training sessions for 35 dairy spokespersons and 15 whey protein spokespersons for Dairy Management, Inc., to educate them on effective media communication strategies. All participants rated the trainings very highly, and said they felt well prepared for media interviews.
Additional:
I'm easy to get along with and a hard worker. I'm looking forward to getting back to the workforce after five and-a-half years as a stay-at-home mom.
