L. R. | Paladin Chicago Candidate
Corporate & Employee Communications
Available For:
Freelance, Direct Hire
Ideal Position:
I would like to lead a communications organization for a company that makes active, strategic communications a part of daily business. I want to make an impact through my work, lead a talented team of communicators, work for leaders with a vision, in an environment where collaboration, ideas and innovation are priorities and results are expected.
Ideal Environment:
I prefer a less structured, informal environment and culture where ideas flow freely and innovation is prized. I love collaboration, but I also believe in making decisions. I lead with the idea that people do not check their humanity at the door, and that accountability and deadlines - and humor and fun - should all be part of the work day.
Past Experience:
My career has primarily been in corporate communications, concentrated in employee, executive and crisis communications. In a recent position, I led internal communications for a Chicago company with a staff of 26 people. The position was broadly defined and included corporate, operating, human resources, customer and crisis communications.
Currently:
I recently worked in a consulting capacity for CSX Railroad through APCO Worldwide. My role was to bring some internal communications expertise to the project team APCO had in place. Working with the VP of Communications, I developed a plan to improve communications delivery to front-line staff through both written and electronic channels.
