L. C. | Paladin Boston Candidate
Marketing Copywriter/Research Expert
Available For:
All types of positions.
Ideal Position:
I am looking for a copywriting position with market research or other information-gathering elements.
Ideal Environment:
I like pretty much everything about 'startup culture.' "That's not my job" is an attitude I don't have and can't stand - I don't want to be in an environment where that sort of thing is the dominant culture, and I'd prefer not to be somewhere it's tolerated.
That said, I'm flexible, easy to get along with and a good co-worker.
Past Experience:
I have experience as a Journalist, editor and newspaper publisher. I was a corporate copywriter and market-research consultant, for a software company whose main product was used for writing and distributing surveys. I have also been a freelance marketing/marketing research consultant, copywriter and proofreader.
Currently:
I am currently in a freelance position: proofing science-fiction/fantasy novels (lots of unusual vocabulary) for a major publisher using the Chicago style. The novels included NYT bestsellers with six-figure initial print runs. I have proofed them, checked for consistency and suggested edits.
Additional:
I've worked in a few fields, which might imply I haven't been in any one of them long enough to master it. Not the case: I've been *good* at the things I've done. I'd call myself a 'multi-specialist', not a 'generalist.'
In particular, journalism involves more than writing. The work itself is mostly research, interviewing, and data evaluation.
