Paladin is a staffing firm specializing in the recruitment of roles within marketing and advertising. We are working with one of our TOP agency clients who is looking for a dynamic and experienced Strategic Planner with brand management and leadership experience. In this role you will play a key part establishing a visionary strategic direction and bringing that vision to life. They need someone that has experience in applying the systems and processes required to meet goals. Someone with proven success developing innovative marketing solutions designed to maximize revenue and growth for clients and new business prospects.  
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have analyzed market, competitive, consumer and category dynamics and led the development of truly inspired work that has delivered results.
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours)
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Other Responsibilities to Include:

  • Develop and present well-researched and validated strategic insights that lead it’s clients to greater branding and sales success
  • Analyze current agency strategic direction, systems and processes and implement updates   Analyze current agency practices and technological acumen and recommend/implement technology accelerators
  • Analyze current Account Side staff, identify gaps and recommend hiring needs
  • Play a leading role in the development of new business opportunities      


  • 5-10 years of ad agency experience required
  • Heavy brand experience within a CPG company and an MBA is a nice to have! 
  • Lead our account and creative teams to uncover fresh brand/product/audience insights
  • Take those fresh insights and work with the account and creative team to turn them into big ideas Foster a culture of strategic thinking within the agency
  • Familiar with best practices in digital research and data analysis
  • CRM strategy and program development experience Develop strong relationships with senior client contacts and agency creative teams Presents, sells and defends all agency work/proposals to clients Strong interpersonal skills, written communication and presentation skills
  • Actively seeks additional projects/new business from client contact
  • Play an active role in new business pitches and presentations 
  • Comfortable and capable of involvement in activities for several clients simultaneously
  • A collaborative spirit and seeker of mentoring opportunities
  • Enough 'scrappy' experience to never become paralyzed by time or budget realities
  • A thinker, a day-dreamer, a non-traditional outlier who wants to believe in what they're doing, who they’re doing it with, and who they're doing it for
