Paladin has an exciting new temp-to-perm job opening for a Graphic Designer with at least 3 years of creative design and branding experience to work with an insurance company located in the western Chicago suburbs. Our client is a small-mid size firm that offers a friendly and stable environment with opportunity to work on creative projects where you get to color outside the lines! The projects that you work on will reach a national audience and will have strong brand recognition to consumers.
 
In this role you will be responsible for formulating sound designs and creating compelling visual communications that are on brand, and improve the reputation of the firm among its wide (national) audience. Additionally you will work with many internal clients to develop and refine a broad variety of communication materials in a variety of mediums including print, web, email and social media.
 
The designer our client is looking for is passionate about design, stays up on design trends (no outdated fonts up in here), cares about what they put in their portfolio and can flex their creative muscles while working within brand standards.

Other Responsibilities to Include:
 
• Ensure all creative materials model a high design standard
• Establish design guidelines and integrate visual consistency across all mediums and increase brand awareness
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Create new concepts for brand graphics and various communication pieces
• Handle custom projects including design, coordination, file prep, evaluating proofs and printing
• Lead key corporate creative projects and programs from start to finish working within sales and marketing, but also cross-functionally with staff from all departments
• Design and/or coordinate design with internal teams and outside vendors for key creative initiatives such as: presentations, marketing collateral, forms, handbooks, e-publications, banner ads, interactive multimedia, email marketing, stationary, direct mail, trade show materials and more
• Identify opportunities for improvement and strategies to cost-effectively incorporate fresh and effective content across all mediums
• Work closely with the Director, Brand Strategy to build and manage long-term goals
• Special projects and duties as assigned
• Partner with colleagues to elevate the design quality of PowerPoint presentations, internal communications, board materials, intranet pages, and communications to external partners
 
Requirements:
 
• BA in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or similar discipline is required
• Minimum 2-3 years of design experience in a corporate setting
• Knowledge of design principals including layout, typography, color and current design trends
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to effectively “pitch” creative concepts and art direction
• Ability to take direction and conceptualize, design and organize projects on your own
• Strong expertise in Creative Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Acrobat), along with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
