Paladin is working with a top housewares company located in Oak Brook, IL that is leading the pack in the industry. They are hiring (2) Assistant Product Managers to join their team. These openings are the result of growth and expansion!
 
They are the owner of major houseware product brands that include home décor, food storage, dinnerware, kitchen tools, and lots of other cool gadgets. This is great break to work with dominant brands that could catapult a burgeoning career in CPG!! We’ve had the pleasure of placing multiple people on their team and are very excited to be partnering with them again (oh, and all of those placements still work there today).
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO: Help manage, support and promote a line of products that meets the needs of the customer and the end consumer.
 
LOCATION: Oak Brook, IL
HOURS: Full-time/40 hours
SALARY: Up to $60k/year

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Partner with Marketing Directors and other Product Managers to create, develop, and manage product portfolios for the US and international markets.
  • Update and communicate project updates in weekly meetings with program managers, project engineers and marketing directors.
  • Manage the private label and custom product development process for the respective product category including: special items for specific customers & repackaging projects.
  • Manage the international product development process by adapting US SKUs for the Canadian and European markets for various product categories.
  • Work with project engineers, program managers and overseas vendors in the development of custom and international SKU rationalization annually to ensure proper mix of product type and profit for the product line.
  • Create and write instruction manuals for various product categories.
  • Attend, plan and participate in trade shows and other events.
  • Assist with management and creation of price lists, catalog sheets, presentations and all other sales support material for customers.
  • Web-site population.
  • Learn to use planogram software.
  • Support Marketing Directors with item set up, proofreading and related product development.
  • Work with partners who will provide you with data mining.

 
TRAVEL: Some domestic travel will be required – approximately 2-3 trips/year, nothing excessive.
 
NEEDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years of product experience.
  • Degree preferred.
  • Poised and confident – able to work in front of customers.
  • You must be highly organized with a very strong eye for details.
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced, customer focused environment.
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to work with partners internally, externally and internationally (understand/respect differences in foreign business etiquette and culture).
  • Proficient in MS Office particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
