Our client, a leading supplier of professional beauty products with offices in the city and Northwest suburbs, is seeking an Assistant Brand Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Brand Manager with overseeing 1500 SKUs; this part of the business makes up 60% of the company’s revenue. Needless to say, you will play an instrumental part in the maintenance of current SKUs as well as new product development.
Title: Assistant Brand Manager
Location: 3 days/Bucktown (Chicago), 2 days/near Arlington Heights. Suburban location is NOT accessible by public transportation.
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Travel: This role will include 10% travel with occasional weekends. Travel will include customer visits, events, tradeshows, etc.
What You’ll Do:
1. Market Analysis and Category Strategy
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitive activity.
- Build a comprehensive understanding of consumer behaviors and expectations.
- Manage the current portfolio including sales presentations, SKU substitutions and discontinuations.
2.  New Product Development
-  Contribute to product positioning, assortment, packaging solutions and pricing.
-   Effectively oversee project timelines, deliverables and approvals.
-   Manage relationships with other departments and external agencies.
-  Prepare project product briefs to New Product Development Senior Manager for sourcing and assist in sourcing products from suppliers as needed.
-  Execute product testing with end users.
3.  Activation
-  Support sales teams with effective sales and training tools.
-  Coordinate with agency partners in the execution of fully integrated communication across all relevant touch-points, including the publishing of content and digital assets across multiple platforms.
What You’ll Need:
• A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, fashion merchandising, or similar fields is required.
• 2+ years of related marketing experience
• CPG/product experience is required.
• Beauty experience/personal care experience is preferred.
• A passion for beauty is a MUST!
• Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) is required.
• Experience with Nielsen and retail point of sale data a plus.
