Agency Positions:
Account Coordinator/Assistant Account Executive
Typically has one-to-two years of experience
in Public Relations. Develops media lists, pitches targeted
print and broadcast news outlets, tracks media coverage
and assembles clip books for clients. Conducts in-depth
research for new business presentations and current client
programs. Supports Account Executives with their day-to-day
work and may supervise an Intern. Strong writing and editing
skills are essential for this position as well as an exacting
attention to detail. Must be able to effectively multi-task
and work in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s
degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism,
English, Marketing or related field is desired.
Public Relations Account Executive/Senior Account
Executive
Typically has two-to-four years of experience in Public
Relations. Responsible for drafting press releases and
other promotional materials; pitching stories to the media,
fielding media calls and monitoring press coverage; and
planning special events, such as analyst tours, press
conferences and media briefings. Interacts directly with
clients and leads client conference calls. Supports senior
staff with their day-to-day activities and supervises
one or more Account Coordinators/Assistant Account Executives.
Strong writing and editing skills are essential for this
position as well as an exacting attention to detail. Must
be able to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced
environment.
Public Relations Account Executive
Typically has five-to-seven years of experience in Public
Relations or Journalism. The most important aspect of
this position is managing client relationships and leading
national and international campaigns. Reports to the Senior
Account Supervisor and manages a team of Account Coordinators/Account
Executives, Account Executives and Senior Account Executives.
Requires excellent communication, project management,
account management, presentation, organizational and leadership
skills.
Public Relations Senior Account Supervisor/Manager
Typically has eight-to-ten years of experience in Public
Relations. Partial focus on generating new business, oversees
several client accounts and ensures overall client satisfaction,
Leads the strategic vision for each client program and
tracks budget. Reports to the Vice President/Senior Vice
President and supervises the Account Supervisors and other
junior staff. Requires strong presentation, organizational
and leadership skills.
Public Relations Agency Vice President/Senior
Vice President
Typically has ten or more years of Public Relations experience.
Responsible for establishing a long-term business vision
for the practice, generating new business, ensuring practice
profitability, managing practice budgets, balancing staff
workloads, recruiting and hiring, and providing high-level
strategic guidance for client teams. Manages the Reports
directly to the office General Manager and supervises
Vice Presidents and below.
Corporate
Positions
Communications Editor/Proofreader
Reviews marketing collateral, press releases, media alerts,
advertisements, white papers and other materials produced
by the corporate communications department to detect errors
in spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax. Verifies
facts as well as updates copy to clarify themes, maintain
consistency in tone and voice, and adhere to corporate
style guidelines and editorial policy.
Communications Manager
Develops and implement internal and external communications
strategies and programs that support and advance a company's
strategic goals and are aligned with a company’s
overall brand philosophy. Generally develops and executes
marketing collateral, publications, direct mail campaigns
and promotions, trade publication articles, and fact sheets.
Project manages and writes effective copy for internal/external
communications as assigned by Communications Director.
Requires top-level writing and editorial ability and a
passion for communications excellence.
Communications
Manager/Director
Manages, oversees and develops strategies to enhance an
organization's public image. Responsibilities include:
establishing relationships with members of the media;
pitching stories to print and broadcast news outlets and
monitoring media coverage; developing corporate key messages
and communicating them to key stakeholders, including
investors, the public and the media. Oversees production
of internal and external materials such as brochures,
press releases, web copy, newsletters and executive presentations.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Investor Relations Manager
Develops and maintain effective external relationships
with the investment community with proactive, timely communications.
Also, develops and maintain effective internal relationships
with Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and
Legal; develop a high-level knowledge base across all
divisions by building appropriate relationships, staying
current on divisional successes and challenges and participating
in various corporate meetings and events. Assists in developing
key messages of a Company’s strategy, operational
and financial performance which will be incorporated into
press releases, presentations, web content, the annual
report and other materials.
Media Relations
Manager
Directs, prioritizes and monitors media strategies, requests
and projects. Managing and overseeing the development
of tools to execute the strategic media plan. Typically
has five-to-eight years of media relations work. Experience
managing staff and developing and managing programs are
usually essential.
Public Relations Manager/Director
Works collaboratively with internal product marketing
and Marketing Communications team as well as external
PR agency to build and maintain strong relations with
industry professionals including vertical, business and
trade press, and industry analysts. Works with internal
marketing teams to develop and execute PR plans for product
launches, vertical campaigns and other strategic company
announcements. Responsible for development and execution
of strategic communication plans, press releases and media
events.
